My Story
Hi, I’m Zach Jones. You might already know me, or one of my siblings or cousins. My family has been Marylanders since the late 1880s. We’re raising the fourth generation here, and this state is in our blood.
Fun fact: My grandmother, Ora, allegedly played Stickball with Babe Ruth in the alleys of Baltimore’s Pig Town. (Source: My Father)
I started working at 13 and never stopped. In 1998, my brother connected me with a summer job at Camden Yards working the Baltimore Orioles clubhouses. Which, as a high schooler, felt like an absolute dream. My first bosses, the Tylers (shout-out to Bunny too), ran that locker room like Gordon Ramsay ran a kitchen: high standards, high values, no excuses. That work ethic stuck with me.
Fast forward 30 years. I’ve worked all over Maryland, and I’ve always been a born entertainer turned entrepreneur. I’ve been a cannabis advocate and hand-roller since 1999, dabbled in vape manufacturing in 2015, and been enjoying concentrates since 2018. The thread connecting all of it? I wanted to build something real, something I believed in.
The moment that changed everything came on November 8th, 2022. I was voting yes on Maryland recreational cannabis when it hit me: If this passes, outsiders will come in and enshittify another thing I love. Why not protect this house myself? What if I got a license?
So I spent the next year researching, testing, reading regulations over and over, and building the business plan. By November 2023, C4C, LLC was officially established. But my employer at the time didn’t approve of my outside venture. So I faced a choice: stay in the rat race or take a leap of faith.
I tend to prefer the road less traveled.
Two weeks later, I resigned and went all-in. Here’s the kicker: the license drawing was lottery-based, months away, with no guarantee. It was a huge risk (honestly, kind of crazy).

In March 2024, my lottery number came through. I drew a Micro Processing License for the Central Region.
Then the real work began. Finding a location, wading through trade permits, navigating county planning and zoning, dealing with equipment back-orders, delays on delays. All the planned and unplanned obstacles that come with building something worth building. I spent the next 2.5 years doing most of this alone. A couple close friends helped out here and there, and my economic partners brought capital and expertise, but this has been a solo mission. That’s not a complaint; that’s the point.

I share all of this because I wanted you to know who’s behind AuthenTHC™. I’m not some outside corporation looking to scale fast and cut corners. I’m a lifelong Marylander, built by this state, committed to protecting what we’ve built here.
